SIX-YEARS-OLD Kelsey Easter is certainly in the good books with mum and dad after scooping a sunshine holiday for the whole family.

Creative Kelsey from Blackpool entered a colouring competition in the summer and her vibrantly coloured picture of a sunny day at the beach bagged the grand prize of a Thomson Superfamily holiday up to the value of £2,000.

Mum Sharon, of Westmorland Avenue, told the Citizen: "Now we are jetting off to the island of Minorca in the summer for a week instead of our usual trip to the Lake District.

"We were a bit shocked at first and Kelsey's sisters Lucy, 2, and Siobhan, 7, and dad Mark thinks she's brilliant."

The Walker Books Days Away competition, run in conjunction with a bookshop promotion on selected Walker titles, asked children aged eight and under to send in a drawing of their favourite day away.

Mrs Easter added: "I picked up an entry form in a bookshop in town as Kelsey loves drawing and colouring and likes to enter competitions but really didn't think any more about it.

"I think Kelsey is a good artist because she uses paints, crayons and felt tips in her pictures and really gets into it but I suppose every mum thinks that."
