Christmas shoppers can send a goodwill message around the world by taking part in Amnesty's greeting card campaign in Blackburn market today.
Blackburn with Darwen Amnesty Group are inviting shoppers to send Christmas cards to people who are unjustly and harshly imprisoned, to remind their governments that they are not forgotten.
Last year, about 160 cards were sent from Blackburn market, many to prisoners of conscience in South Korea. In February, the prisoners were released.
John Asher, of Blackburn with Darwen Amnesty Group, said: "There was an enthusiastic response last Christmas and we are again offering people the chance to send a card showing solidarity and support for people suffering."
The volunteers will be at the market from 9am to 3.30pm.
