CHARITY Champions who have raised thousands of pounds in 1999 presented yet another cheque to a worthy cause.
Ribble Valley Ladies' Luncheon Club handed over a cheque for £15,000 to the Cancer Research Campaign.
The money was raised at a successful lunch at Stirk House Hotel where Paul Burrell, butler to the late Diana, Princess of Wales entertained the 267 guests.
He was joined by Moira Livsey of the Rylstone Women's Institute who recently hit the headlines when she and fellow WI members bared all in a cheeky alternative calendar.
Karen Weaving who runs Stirk House Hotel with husband Malcolm, said: "It was a delightful afternoon and we are proud to have presented yet another cheque to the Cancer Research Campaign.
"We look forward to fund-raising in the 21st century with as much enthusiasm as ever."
This latest cheque presentation brings the total raised this year by the luncheon club for the Cancer Research Campaign to more than £50,000.
