FATHER Christmas arrived by boat as Burnley Weavers' Triangle Trust held its annual Victorian Christmas over the weekend.
He was inspired not so much by a past week of heavy rainfall, but by the opportunity to come in by barge to the canalside visitor centre, said organisers.
The centre, off Manchester Road, was specially decorated, with staff in Victorian costume. Demonstrations were given by the East Lancashire Lacemakers and refreshments, including mince pies, were available. The event was organised by the Friends of the Weavers' Triangle in association with the Inn on the Wharf.
