MANCHESTER-based Norweb Contracting has been selected to install a new generator at Burnley General Hospital.
The contract involves the installation, testing and commissioning of the power generator which will provide full power back up to its critical services.
In the unlikely event of a power supply failure it will maintain full electrical service to high-priority departments including Accident and Emergency, X-ray, maternity, outpatient and the hospital's coronary care and medical high dependency units.
Terry Finch, estates services manager at Burnley General Hospital, said: "As our authorised HV contractor, Norweb Contracting has the expertise required for such a complex installation.
"More importantly, it has a strong track record for co-ordinating this type of project and getting it done on time."
