STUDENTS at Nelson and Colne College have won through to the heats of the Nestle Toque d'Or competition, the country's most prestigious student catering contest.
They will compete against 31 other selected teams in eight heats during Hotelympia 2000, the UK's largest catering and hospitality exhibition, at Earls Court in February.
The team, comprising full-time catering students, Mark Brown, 18, Tony Whatley, 17 and Chris Emmerson, 19, will serve its winning menu to eight guest diners at the show.
Nestle UK's event manager Martin Webster said: "Competing at Hotelympia 2000 is a unique stepping stone for students - most catering students dream of one day running their own restaurant, the competition gives them a taste of the future."
