A MOTORIST is in a critical condition after a head-on crash in Lytham St Anne's on Sunday afternoon.
Jerry Daw, of Applecross Drive, Burnley, was freed from his Jaguar XJ S by firefighters.
He suffered multiple fractures to both shoulders, broken ribs and a head injury and is in intensive care at the Royal Preston Hospital.
Police said Katherine Raven, 18, of Shalbourne Road, Lytham St Annes, lost control of her Vauxhall Monteray car which crossed the central reservation of Ballam Road and collided head-on with the Jaguar. Miss Raven was treated for shock.
Passengers in the Jaguar were Laurence Daw, 13, of Applecross Drive, who suffered a broken leg and was discharged after treatment and Vera Daw, 82, Berwick Road, Blackpool, who suffered chest injuries.
