HYNDBURN'S Labour MP and Tory council leader were at Westminster today to lobby ministers for European aid.
Greg Pope and Councillor Peter Britcliffe are trying to get Hyndburn a share of £50million to create thousands of jobs at a business park off the M65.
It could fall flat because Euro chiefs are withdrawing funding.
Coun Britcliffe says plans for the Whitebirk Central 65 site - the second largest strategic employment site in the North West - could be scuppered if Hyndburn is denied Objective Two money.
The Government - under pressure from the European Commission to cut the number of areas getting the regeneration money - has announced plans to withdraw it from Hyndburn, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
It has instead earmarked £50m to be split between Blackburn with Darwen and the Ribble Valley.
