A TEENAGER from East Lancashire has been helped along the career ladder thanks to a training council.
David Mulleary, of Accrington, is aiming to become a quality assurance manager and has completed a national trainee-ship through ELTEC's XTEND programme.
The former Mount Carmel High School pupil, aged 19, has worked for Hepworth Building Products in Padiham for almost three years and has since completed an NVQ course in laboratory operations.
David said: "I feel the XTEND programme has given me the best of both worlds.
"I not only had the opportunity to gain high level qualifications, but I also got invaluable qualifications and a wage."
Anyone wanting more information about the XTEND project should ring the hot-line on 08457 125922.
