LONGRIDGE never fails to turn out a good number of runners despite being one of the roughest seven-milers in the area.

Personal bests are uncommon and yet some good times were set on Sunday.

Aaron Hargreaves took first spot in a time of 37.46, finishing 46 seconds ahead of Darren Hale from Rotherham Harriers. In third place was Alex Rowe of Wesham Road Runners, also a MV40.

First lady home was Anne Sweeney in a time of 49.16, Janet Pound not far behind with 49.29.

There was a close contest for the MV60 prize with Ted Orrell, Peter Taylor and Bill Atkinson finishing within just over a minute of each other.

Harry Haseley of Accrington Road Runners once again had an excellent run, powering ahead of his team-mates to finish in 53.32.

Accrington Road Runners Christmas Handicap is being held on Sunday, start time 10am. All entrants should take along a gift of up £5 so everyone receives a prize.
