BLACKBURN Rovers do not expect Matt Jansen to follow Jason Wilcox to Premiership top dogs Leeds United.
The Yorkshire club were reported to be lining up a £4 million bid for the unsettled young striker.
But the only club to have shown an interest in Jansen to date is Rangers - and that has not been followed up since their signing of striker Billy Dodds.
And there were no discussions between the Rovers and Leeds when the Wilcox deal was sealed on Thursday night.
Jansen, however, is likely to be one of several names that Parkes looks to off-load as he attempts to trim a top heavy squad.
He has been unable to win a place in the starting line-up since Parkes took charge following the dismissal of Brian KIdd and only came on as a sub in yesterday's disappointing 2-1 defeat by Sheffield United.
Chief executive John Williams, however, was keen to stress that Parkes is under no pressure to sell.
He said: "There is no enforced selling regime. Tony wanted to make that quite clear in his interview for the job, and also that there would be money to buy new players.
"That is not to say there won't be sales, but there is no pressure from the club.
"Our primary aim remains to get promoted this season.
"There has never even been any informal discussions with Leeds about Matt Jansen."
The next out-going from Ewood is expected to be young defender Keith Brown.
He is expected to join fellow Division One outfit Barnsley in the next couple of days for a package worth around £200,000. Damien Johnson, however, is not a player that Parkes is willing to let go without a fight.
A number of clubs, including Preston North End, have inquired about taking the Northern Ireland international winger on loan.
But Williams said: "There have been several loan inquiries but Damien is very much part of the first team squad at the moment, so they have been rejected."
Meanwhile, midfielder Jason McAteer faces a hefty club fine after being sent off for swearing at a linesman during yesterday's defeat. McAteer had already been booked for an off-the-ball incident when he launched his verbal assault on the official in the 31st minute, resulting in a straight red from referee Mike Pike.
"There will be action by the club. Players get fined for that," said Parkes.
"It was a stupid thing to do and the lad knows that.
"But he's a Liverpudlian lad and he gets involved in things sometimes. "Obviously, that cost us dearly but he's as disappointed as everybody else and there's not much we can do about it."
Ironically, McAteer had been one of a trio of players who had fought off the effects of flu to line up against United.
Damien Duff and Alan Kelly had also climbed off their sick-beds to take their places in the starting line up.
But McAteer's dismissal was the turning point and, despite a valiant effort from Rovers 10-men, they could not prevent United from ending their eight game unbeaten run.
"It's not been a good week for us because we've had a bit of flu in the camp and players have had to get off their beds to play," said Parkes.
"We started well, we scored the goal and, hopefully, we would have gone on to win it.
"But then things changed after the sending off and it became quite a difficult game for us.
"They put us under pressure with long throws and long balls and we found it hard to deal with at times.
"I thought we battled hard but I was disappointed with the second goal because we allowed Marcus Bent to have a free header.
"But we have a game on Wednesday against West Brom and we'll start again and try and get on another run."
