FORMER magistrate and public school teacher Philip Howarth is on his way back home after being escorted to the departure gate of a London-bound plane two weeks after being acquitted of a child abuse charge in a Thai court.
Mr Howarth, 40, originally from Burnley, has been banned from the grounds of Royal Wolverhampton Junior School since his arrest in Bangkok with a half naked 14 year-old boy in his bedroom.
In Thailand, Sudarat Sereewatr, secretary general of the Coalition to Fight Against Child Exploitation, wished Howarth a speedy departure and said his process through the Thai court system was one of the quickest he had known.
A report on the case is being sent to the Thai Home and Foreign Ministry urging an overhaul of the judicial system.
Howarth was monitored boarding an Olympis Airways flight by British law enforcement representatives.
