A CABARET club at the centre of a row over Christmas party nights has revealed it will not deal with complaints until after the new year.

Brassingtons in Burnley Road, Altham, has received a number of complaints from people unhappy with Christmas cabaret nights.

Members of a ladies darts team are the latest unhappy customers to contact the Lancashire Evening Telegraph regarding what they described as a "ridiculous" £21.95 a head night out in November.

They have put their complaint in writing but are still waiting for a reply.

The 14-strong team from the Bay Horse Inn, Barrow, say they want their cash refunding but have not heard anything from management - more than three weeks after posting the letter which details their gripes.

Brassingtons said that complaints would not be dealt with until after Christmas.

Keen darter Eileen Wilson, 60, said: "We are still waiting to hear from them and we want some compensation.

"It is ridiculous charging that sort of money because our meals were absolutely disgusting.

"Our meal was booked for 7.30pm but we didn't go through until 9.30pm and it was 10pm before we got anything.

"At 11.50pm one of our party stood outside the kitchen door and said we weren't going anywhere until we got our desserts. "One of the sweets was called death by chocolate but it looked like it had died long before it got to our table. Someone finished up with an apple pie that was still frozen and the trifle was just liquid."

Mrs Wilson and the team were at Brassingtons on November 20 for a cabaret evening with Billy Pearce.

She said they complained on the night but were told to put them down in writing.

A spokeswoman for Brassingtons said: "It will be addressed, but the directors will not get round to it until after Christmas because this is our busiest time.

"We are taking it very seriously and will sit down and look at it properly."

The Evening Telegraph told how two Christmas parties were ruined when one group of diners did not get any food at all and another group of 14 were given just a tray of brussels sprouts and carrots for their main course during a £25.50 per head cabaret evening on December 11.

Brassingtons said their complaints would also be dealt with.

The two groups who claimed their Christmas parties at Brassingtons had been ruined have been offered a free replacement night out by a Ribble Valley restaurant and hotel.

Katherine Fraenzel, restaurant manager at Mitton Hall Country House Hotel, Whalley, formerly the Stonehouse Hotel, has offered the BAe Systems and the martial arts club groups a free meal and disco next week.
