GLOBE-trotting teacher Fiona Ridley is heading home to Australia after a 12-month stint at a Darwen school.
She swapped "lives" with Holy Trinity Primary School teacher Jackie Hunt as part of an exchange programme.
Fiona was given a special send-off by pupils and staff as she prepared to return to her job in New South Wales, Australia.
She received gifts, including a Blackburn Rovers shirt, at a farewell assembly with an Australian theme. Deputy headteacher at Holy Trinity, Mike Leighton said: "Everybody will miss Fiona's contribution to school life.
"I think the experience has been invaluable for both teachers."
Fiona plans to visit Africa before returning home and Jackie, of Darwen, will enjoy the festivities in New Zealand before starting back at school in the New Year.
