DESPITE the fact that we have had to endure the usual, different day/different name scenario, if the newspapers are to be believed, I find it incredible that Blackburn Rovers' board have opted for the four names which have been mentioned, instead of choosing from a list of top-class managers who have operated at some of the world's largest and most successful clubs.

These managers, famous for good football and winning trophies - who are all unemployed at the moment, so no compensation would be needed - Terry Venables, Roy Evans, Graeme Souness and Glenn Hoddle.

The board in their wisdom are trying to sign managers who are either famous for long ball football or fighting off relegation year in year out.

We keep reading the fans' choice is either Martin O'Neill or Graeme Souness, do the fans not have a right to choose, after all, it's us that pay the wages and the board have already got it wrong three times in a row.

The last time we chose a manager who had won something in this country, we won the championship.

Yes Tony is doing a great job so far, but I find it beyond belief that a player with the talent of Matt Jansen is hardly ever in the squad.

He produced one of the most skilful performances seen for a long time down at Ewood Park, and he hasn't played since.
