LANCASHIRE FA are running a full time football education programme in association with Accrington and Rossendale and Hopwood Hall Colleges for September 2000 entry.
The scheme is a full time course designed for players of proven ability who wish to continue their academic studies while receiving specialist football coaching.
All players will be 16 to 17 years of age and be full-time students at the college. Places will be offered based on selection trials, GCSE exam results and an informal interview, and successful students will represent the college in British colleges and ESFA competitions and also have opportunities to play against league clubs.
As part of the Football Education Programme, students will complete academic studies leading to Advanced GNVQ in Leisure and Tourism with sports pathways, coach education courses, leadership training and 12 hours per week practical coaching sessions with qualified and experienced UEFA coaches from the Lancashire Football Association.
