FA Cup 3rd round replay: Blackburn Rovers v West Bromwich Albion

WEST Brom are going through troubled times, but they still have a couple of match-winners capable of worrying Rovers.

Blackburn boss Tony Parkes has highlighted the prolific Lee Hughes and James Quinn as dangermen following the first meeting between the two sides at the Hawthorns.

And he admitted that the Rovers defence, missing Darren Peacock and possibly Simon Grayson, will have to be on their toes to help Blackburn advance from tonight's third-round replay at Ewood Park.

"We learned that they've got two good strikers. I thought the strikers gave us a few problems.

"Obviously they've lost (Kevin) Kilbane which is a plus for us, hopefully.

"But we will have to defend well against West Brom," Parkes stressed.

Hughes, who bagged 31 goals in Division One last season, scored in the 2-2 draw 11 days ago to add to the seven he has notched in the League so far.

And statistics from Opta suggest why the 23-year-old has such a prolific strike-rate.

Sticking to the policy that if you don't buy a ticket you don't win a prize, Hughes has unleashed 75 goal attempts in League games this season.

He is more of an out-and-out goalscorer than Rovers frontman Ashley Ward, although Ward's statistics stand up favourably on the season to date.

More of a link-man, Ward has made almost 300 more passes than Hughes despite playing in less games.

Ward has also run with the ball more frequently, underlining the fact that Hughes gets into good positions and then shoots on sight - more often than not threatening the target.
