COUNCIL chiefs in Hyndburn are seeking employees' views on possible moves to reshape the authority's management structure.
Chief executive Mike Chambers wants the council to strengthen its management of housing, leisure and cleaning services. The authority has already announced plans to form area councils in the borough's outer towns and wants get more staff working face-to-face with residents outside Accrington.
The number of council directors would also be cut from the current five to two, with an extra director's post being created at the Hyndburn Partnership. The partnership is currently run by the council, but is set to become an independent company providing council services through a contract.
The proposed shake-up will be discussed at a special meeting of the council's policy and resources committee in February.
