STERN John is another of David Platt's acquisitions to have made an immediate impression.
The 23-year-old Trinidad and Tobago striker is a good friend of Manchester United's Dwight Yorke, his international strike partner.
And he will be looking to make a similar impression on English football following his move from Columbus Crew, via the Carolina Dynamo and New Orleans Riverboat Ramblers.
John is quick and direct, and is not dissimilar in style to Blackburn's Nathan Blake.
The Forest striker has already scored two goals in the equivalent of five full league games which is not a bad record when compared to the two goals scored by the Rovers striker in many more appearances.
Stern also appears to operate a shoot on sight policy.
Both players like to run at defenders, although the statistics would suggest that defensive work is not high on either player's list of priorities.
