LANCASTER'S successful £5 million SRB grant could be matched by more than £30 million in contributions from the private and public sector.
The money will spent on redeveloping around two thirds of the city, mostly on the Marsh, Ryelands, Ridge, Vale and Newton but also the city centre and Bowerham.
Lancaster SRB Partnership, the group set up to manage the fund, will be looking to spend the money on physical regeneration, enterprise and growth, training and employment access and rejuvenation of communities.
Partnership Chairman, County Cllr Ruth Henig, said: "The next few years will be very exciting for all those who live and work in Lancaster. We must make the most of the funding opportunities that will be available by working closely with all the funding partners. This is the chance for the people of Lancaster to make an impact on a range of community schemes and local enterprise partnerships."
