Kidderminster 2 Morecambe 1
A DISASTROUS two-minute spell late in the second half saw Morecambe concede an own goal, let in another and miss a penalty on Saturday.
The meeting of two of the league's in-form sides was always going to be fiercely fought and for much of the game it looked as if Justin Jackson's 40th minute tap in would secure the points.
Both teams had played attractive pass and move football but the clear cut chances were few and far between.
Kidderminster enjoy the best of the early chances but striker Stuart Hadley lost his bottle in front of goal.
Morecambe's Stuart Drummond dived in with a header that was inches wide and minutes later he headed a corner towards goal where Jackson was waiting three yards out to kick it over the line. With the home side lacking any thrust it was therefore ironic that Andy Farrell's boot deflected the ball into the back of his own net.
This misfortune seemed to lift Kidderminster and seconds later Hedley, who had wobbled infront of net a few times, let fly with an brilliant shot from the edge of the box that scorched the net.
Morecambe bounced right back and when Jackson was brought down into the box the referee pointed straight to the spot.
Jacko had a 100 per cent spot kick record but this time he failed to get any power on his shot and the keeper saved comfortably.
In the last 15 minutes the Shrimps threw everything at the home side but time ran out and for the second time Morecambe had lost out to Kidderminster.
