Liverpool St Helens 5, Kendal 56
THE tale of woe continued for injury-hit LSH on Saturday.
But they now enter a three-week break that should allow time for the squad to recover fitness.
With only seven fit backs available, the home side had to name three forwards as replacements. And when injuries during the game removed centre Carter and winger Walker, the disruptions were too much to cover.
But the damage had already been done by then. For the visitors scored four tries in the first 20 minutes, including two from interceptions as LSH made basic errors.
The Cumbrian pack was in command throughout, although all eight LSH forwards worked hard, particularly Topping and Nick Jones, who scored the late consolation try from the unaccustomed position of centre.
In the backs Liddle and Cumming showed up well and Michael Jones was outstanding on the wing.
But the game was controlled by Kendal stand-off Mee, a former Super 12 player.
