THE parents of one-year-old Sasha Stout were devastated when they found that burglars had broken into their home and stolen all the youngster's presents.
Amanda Pope (19) and Colin Stout (20) had been staying at friends overnight and when they returned to their home in Silkstone Street, St Helens, the following day they opened the living room door to discover the Christmas tree had been knocked to the floor and the presents they had saved up for were missing.
Colin said: "Amanda and I are devastated. Neither of us work and we had scrimped and saved all year round so that we could give Sasha a wonderful Christmas. We're not insured and there's no way we can replace the presents that have been stolen. "We were really looking forward to watching Sasha's face light up when she opened her presents, and now we haven't got a thing to give her. I can't believe anyone would do this and deprive a one-year-old child of opening her presents on Christmas day."
Among the items stolen were an indoor slide, a swing, bouncy castle, dolls and a pram. The thieves also stole a television, hi-fi and Playstation.
Police believe that the burglary took place in the early hours of Sunday, December 5 and anyone able to help with their inquiries can contact DC Karen Cummins on 0151 777 6875, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
