North End never got into gear and were under pressure for long spells by a Wrexham side battling to avoid relegation.

North End have the perfect opportunity to put matters right tomorrow afternoon (kick off 1pm) when Bristol Rovers visit Deepdale for the division's match of the day. Rovers leapfrogged Preston into second spot after ending Millwall's recent run of victories on Boxing Day and North End are expecting a crowd of around 15,000.
Bolton will be hoping to come out of their mid-winter slump when another of the First Division strugglers, West Brom, visit the Reebok Stadium on Tuesday afternoon (3pm).
Bolton, whose game at Port Vale on Boxing Day was postponed, have slipped to 14th in the table and manager Sam Allardyce, still with many injury problems, will be hoping for an elusive league win.
