A TEAM of toolmakers have made a couple of grand presentations.
Employees from BAE Systems, Samlesbury handed over cheques for £1,000 to Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley and St Catherine's Hospice in Lostock Hall.
The money had been lying in a benevolent fund set up by the toolmakers many years ago.
"The money was used to help anyone who had retired or was off sick, as you didn't get paid in those days," explained Phil Entwistle from the tooling department.
"We realised we didn't need the fund any more and rather than try to split the money between us we decided to give it to someone who still needs it."
Employees at the Samlesbury site have raised more than £55,000 for charity this year.
