CLIVE Lloyd's decision to step down as West Indies manager could pose professional problems for Lancashire League champions Nelson.
The Seedhill club were hoping that Roger Harper would return for their title defence.
But, with current coach Sir Viv Richards likely to step into Lloyd's shoes, Harper is being tipped to land the job of coach.
Nelson had drawn up a list of big name players, should Harper prove unavailable.
That list included South African all-rounder Lance Klusener, although he would miss at least five weeks of the season when the South Africans tour Sri Lanka.
Lloyd insisted the Windies' nine-wicket defeat in the first Test in Hamilton and calls for him to be sacked after a ninth consecutive beating abroad have had no bearing on his decision.
"It's been three years, three long years - and now it's time to do something different. I'll step down at the end of this tour," said the former Lancashire favourite.
