TEXTILE giant Coats Viyella agreed in principle to sell its Carpet Division to an American company.
But the future remained uncertain for hundreds of East Lancashire workers.
Coats, the UK's largest remaining textiles company, announced in November that it was selling businesses employing 5,400 - the majority based in the North of England.
