A SALESMAN was in hospital today after he was crushed between his car and a van following a series of collisions in an icy Church side-street.
The man's Peugeot 106 had been involved in a minor accident and he was standing by his car exchanging details with another driver when he was struck by a van.
The man, a salesman at Central Car Sales, Church, who is in his mid-20s, was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary by ambulance with a broken leg and possible back injuries.
The first accident happened when the salesman's red R-registered Peugeot collided with a red Ford Transit van in Church Hall, near the entrance to Express Gifts' warehouse.
The salesman was exchanging details with the Transit driver when other approaching vehicles collided.
Police said a green Land Rover with a horse box jack-knifed and collided with a white Daihatsu van, which slid and trapped the salesman by his legs.
