THE War Research Society, run mainly by retired and serving police officers and ex-servicemen as a charitable hobby, runs coach trips to the battlefields and cemeteries of Northern Europe.
These include the Somme, Ypres, Mons, Verdun, Normandy, St Nazaire, Arnhem, Berlin, Belsen, Soltau, Reichswald, Rheinberg, Colditz Castle, the sites of the Dambusters Raid, Buchenwald, the Rhine and the Peninsular War.
