FEARS were growing today for the safety of a disabled Blackburn woman who has been missing from home for more than 24 hours.
May Elizabeth Lloyd was last seen by her husband John around 9.30am yesterday morning.
When Mrs Lloyd failed to come home in the evening her husband contacted the police who immediately launched a search.
Hospitals have been checked and the area around the 47-year-old's home in Newfield Drive, Fishmoor, searched. The police helicopter was also being used.
Mrs Lloyd suffered a stroke several years which badly affected her health and left her partially disabled. She walks with a shuffle and has no use of her right arm which she carries.
PC Gary Dundavan of Blackburn police said: "Obviously we are very worried about this lady's safety and want anyone who may have seen her to contact us as soon as possible."
She is white, 5ft 2in, has short, blonde streaked hair and a fair complexion, blue eyes and is slim. She is believed to be wearing a black, full length woollen coat.
Anyone with information should contact Blackburn police as soon as possible on 01254 51212.
