ORGANISERS of a lottery draw which will raise up to £150,000 a year for a local charity have come up with a cuddly image to promote the event.
The appeals and marketing team at Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle are busy preparing for the launch of the draw on February 15 at Towneley Hall, Burnley.
It will also mark the first appearance of Burndle the Bear, the draw's teddy mascot which takes its name from the two boroughs.
Burndle will launch the draw at the hall before taking a ride through Burnley on the Thwaites' Brewery horse-drawn dray back to Pendleside Hospice, Reedley.
Burndle, who organisers said mirrors the warmth and care the hospice provides for local people, will feature on all lottery publicity. The first draw for a £1,000 weekly jackpot will be made on May 12.
