A CLUB is proposing to use Victoria Park lake for course fishing.
Barrowford Angling Club wants to stock the lake with suitable fish such as roach, tench and carp for use by both able and disabled anglers.
The club would pay Pendle Council £350 a year for a minimum three-year lease to use the lake and help keep it clean and tidy.
A report to the council's Nelson area committee, which meets on Monday says the move is in line with council strategy to promote greater use of local parks and would make the lake a significant attraction to local anglers.
The committee is recommended to agree the scheme.
