A TALENTED young performer has won a place with the prestigious National Youth Music Theatre.
Adam Bowles, 18 (pictured) of Bird Street, Brierfield, impressed judges at two auditions attended by 1,500 people and was awarded one of 100 places with the NYMT, which organises five touring musicals for young people around Britain every year.
Blackburn College student Adam said he literally fell to the floor when he read the letter offering him a part.
He said: "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Adam will finish his performing arts course in May, and will spend the summer touring the West Country with the drama Pendragon, including a special performance in Exeter Cathedral.
He thanked his college tutors for helping him to prepare for the auditions.
He said: "I would not even have thought of doing it if it hadn't been for them. They have been very supportive."
Adam hopes to win a place on a degree course in musical theatre and go on to perform in the West End theatres.
He is also a drummer with Pendle Youth Orchestra and is rehearsing for a role in the college's musical Sweeney Todd, to be staged in March.
