TYLDESLEY RU's hit and miss season saw another poor performance as they lost 18-5 at Trafford MV.
And that was despite taking a first minute lead via a Lee Berrisford try after good work by scrum-half Lee Cunliffe.
They were never in the game after that, their play disturbed by a strong wind and driving rain.
The home side responded to Tyldesley's quickfire start with a penalty and try go in at the break 8-5 up, and thery extended their lead with a try from deep within their own half.
And things went from bad to worse when, following a fracas, Darren Edge was sent off.
Trafford grabbed another try to kill the game off, leaving Tyldesley to think long and hard about Sunday's visit of Vale of Lune for the second round of the Lancashire Trophy (2pm).
The Seconds scored a solid 21-3 win over Trafford with tries from Dave Goulborne and Dean Waterworth, Ian Worsfold landed both goals and two penalties.
The Thirds lost 7-2 to Trafford, Adam Fetherston hitting a penalty, a lapse in concentration allowing the home side to grab a last-minute converted try.
U7s lost by 3 tries to 2 against Rochdale (MoM Connor Norton); U8s beat Rochdale 4-3 (MoM Ryan Holt); U9s blew way Eccles 65-10 (MoM James Jackson); U15s fell 28-0 to a strong Orrell side, despite good performances from Gareth Pulman, Paul Martin, Sean Jones, David Tonkin and Chris Corbett.
