THE founder of the Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show, Tony Winder (right) has given up the chairmanship to become president.
Since he started up the event in 1992 it has gone from small beginnings to become the largest motorcycle street extravaganza in Europe.
It now attracts 35,000 visitors from all over Europe and raises thousands of pounds for charity.
Tony will still be involved with the show.
It was his interest in safe motorcycling and a deep love of Rossendale which promoted the idea of hosting a show in Rawtenstall, where he has his business, Antony and Patricia's hair salon. He said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the helm and feel it is time for a change.
"The show has brought local communities together and wouldn't be possible without the support of the committee and friends.
"My successor, Fred Tolley (left), has been involved from the start and will add his own style and enthusiasm to the show.
"I look forward to supporting him in the years to come." Fred, also a keen biker, already devotes his time to promoting safe motorcycling as regional chairman of The British Motorcyclists Federation.
He said: "The show has grown very successfully under Tony's leadership."
He didn't foresee any radical changes but hoped to raise more money for local charities.
