WHATEVER became of the landmark globe which used to adorn the rooftop of Radiant House?

The building was recently the town-centre gas showrooms, now housing an outdoor clothing company, with offices above.

The yedscratter is forwarded by the 'fireside fellowship' of a St Helens side-street pub, whose spokesman wonders if anyone can date the removal from its tower-shaped base; and give reasons for this.

He says: "If the globe still exists in storeage somewhere in the town, then we'd like to see it reinstated.

"But we suspect that it's yet another piece of local heritage which has gone down the pan."

ANYONE able to shed some light on that lost globe? If so, drop me a line at the Star.
