AS a resident of Billinge I have to walk up Beulah Avenue every day to do my shopping. There is a service road in front of the shop for customers to park their cars, but unfortunately many car owners park their cars on either side of the road in Beulah Avenue.
As the road is narrow, most cars are parked on the pavement, leaving very little room for pedestrians to walk up the avenue to do their daily shopping.
I feel very sorry for the residents of Beulah Avenue and would like to tell you about one of the many incidents which occur from time to time.
One particular day a gentleman living in Beulah Avenue had an appointment in St Helens, but was unable to reverse from his drive because of a parked car.
After waiting half-an-hour the car was still blocking his driveway, so he set off in pursuit of the owner. Not having much luck at the shops he eventually tracked down the owner in the ladies hairdressers in Carr Mill Road, where she was sat as large as life under the hairdryer.
After another delay while the hairdresser removed the lady's curlers from her hair, the gentleman finally arrived in St Helens only to find he was too late for his appointment.
I am writing this letter in the hope that maybe someone out there will have a solution to the problem.
