ALL aboard for the first day covers at Leigh's one-in-19,000 Railway Road Post Office.
No, Sub Postmaster Ian Heaton (pictured) hasn't swapped his counter for a station!
But the men at the Royal Mail got all steamed-up and excited at discovering the office franking stamp proudly labels letters "Railway Road" - unlike any other in the land.
So not surprisingly the Railway Road business was chosen by Royal Mail to market this month's "Fire and Light" theme first day cover, featuring four stamps including a 26p first class locomotive view from The Welsh Highland Railway.
Stamps are available individually at face value, or in presentation packs at £1.90 or £3.35.
The railway may have long gone but Railway Road led, not surprisingly, to the Bolton-Kenyon railway (now Atherleigh Way). The station was last used in 1958.
