MANY years ago my family and I emigrated to Australia. We had to depart at very short notice, leaving behind a large cabin trunk full of belongings to follow on as unaccompanied baggage.
When the trunk arrived, some three months later, I discovered that the Stanway family bible had been left behind. This has a great deal of sentimental value, as well as being a register of births, marriages and deaths.
I have tried several avenues to locate this book, as I am now 72 and would like to pass it on to my children. I am therefore hoping that a Bury Times reader will be able to help me locate it.
