BURY: The Shakers put five goals past Colchester in their meeting earlier in the season, and though the U's have improved since then, on the number of chances which The Shakers have squandered in recent games, they are on course to hand out a thrashing to someone.

And tomorrow could not be a better time to do so after a disappointing sequence of results which has seen Bury slip to the relegation fringe instead of the play off chasers which is Manager Andy Preece's aim.

Despite their financial predicament, Bury have not bowed to the pressures of other clubs trying to pick up players on the cheap, but the expected transfer of old boy David Johnson from Ipswich, could give the Gigg Lane coffers a welcome boost thanks to a sell on clause in the contract.

That would not only steady the ship off the field, but also provide a major boost to the players with the atmosphere of uncertainty removed, at least for the time being.

Squad: Kenny, Barrass, Redmond, D Swailes, William,s Daws, Bullock, Reid, Lawson, Barnes, Littlejohn, Preece, Forrest, Billy, Avdiu, Barrick, James.
