MAY I inform readers that all money donated by the generous people of Blackburn towards the Poppy Appeal goes directly to Royal British Legion headquarters in London and not to the local branch and is used to assist disabled ex-servicemen and women and their dependants.
Blackburn branch is totally self-supporting and money is raised by volunteers holding car boot sales and manning the charity shop. The branch officers and committee thank you all for the support you have given in the past and, hopefully, again in the future.
RONALD DRUGAN, (Secretary, Blackburn branch, Royal British Legion), Mowbray Avenue, Blackburn.
