A BABY girl who suffers from a growth disorder has been left house-bound after the theft of her specially-adapted pram.

One-year-old Mollie Williams was diagnosed with a congenital disorder of the hips four months ago and since then has had both legs encased in heavy plaster which is not due to come off until July when she will know whetheror not she needs an operation to cure her.

Now her mum, Kerry, who lives in Windle Hall Drive, Windlehurst, is hoping an appeal through the Star might lead to the return of the pram which was stolen from a friend's car in Prescot.

She said: "Mollie's condition means she can no longer fit into a normal pram and I had to pay an extra £250 to get an adapted one wide enough to accommodate the plaster."

Now though Mollie can't go out following the theft from outside a house in Carlton Street, Prescot, overnight between 10pm on Friday, January 14 and 9.30am the following day.

Kerry added: "We were staying over at my friend's house and the pram was still in her car because she had been looking after Mollie that day. Whoever did it smashed the back window and pulled the pram out.

"Mollie is stuck because the plaster is too wide for her to fit into a normal pram and it will be another six months before it can come off. She needs a wider pram but it will be a real struggle to afford one.

"This one was probably worth next to nothing to whoever stole it but it is everything to Mollie and I just hope someone reading this might recognise it and return it to us because I am desperate." Anyone with information can contact Rachel Herrity at the Star on (01744) 611861.
