Vine 18, Cottingham Tigers 14
VINE moved through to the third round of the National Cup with this hard-fought success over their visitors from Hull.
A closely-contested first half ended with the home men 6-0 up, thanks to a try by Billy Kelly and a penalty by Mike Haslem.
A Haslem try and goal looked to have put Vine firmly in control early in the second half, but Tigers hit back with three tries and a conversion to lead 14-12.
Vine grabbed the all-important score though three minutes from time when good passing along the line sent Swift in at the corner and Haslem added a fine conversion.
Chris Diamond, Danny Whittle and Haslem were outstandinmg for Vine.
