SPORTY youngsters can now take advantage of a bumper basketball and hockey package put together by St Helens Council.

There are hockey sessions for boys and girls (seven to 16-year-olds) beginning on Thursdays between 4.30pm and 6pm at Broadway Leisure Centre, Grange Park, at a cost of £1. There will also be free hockey courses for boys aged between seven and 16 years at Selwyn Jones Sports Centre, Newton-le-Willows, on Fridays between 4pm and 5.15pm. Fully qualified coaches will be on hand to give out help and advice and all equipment is provided.

Broadway Leisure Centre will also be hosting basketball sessions, cost £1. A course for girls, aged between seven and 18 years, starts on Monday, February 7, and will take place between 4.30pm and 6pm. A mixed session for boys and girls will be held on Fridays between 4pm and 6pm, starting on February 4.

Basketball sessions for just £1 will also be held at Selwyn Jones Sports Centre starting on Sunday, February 6, between 10am and 12 noon for boys and girls aged seven to 18 years.
