FIREMAN Steve Leigh has landed a major trophy.
He was crowned the North West Power Lifing Champion at Appleton Thorn, near Warrington.
Competing in the up to 110 kilo class, he lifted 812kilos in three lifts - squat, bench press and power lift.
It was the best lift of the day's competition.
But the icing on the cake came when Billinger Steve, a member of the Adlington Bar Bell Club, won the award for the best pound-for-pound lift.
Now 39-year-old Steve, who is based at the Parr Stocks Road station is to compete in the British Championships in Birmingham at the end of this month.
