BAMBER Bridge have dropped into the relegation zone - but manager Tony Greenwood isn't panicking yet.

Brig have games in hand over their rivals - thanks largely to the team's best ever FA Cup run earlier in the season.

Brig didn't play last weekend, but other results conspired to push the side into the bottom three.

Greenwood said: "We have dropped into the relegation zone, but we have got games in hand.

"Saying that, we must win those games - if we don't, we're in real trouble.

He continued: "I believe the the team has enough to get out of there. "We've made a few changes, but we won't be carting players out of the club.

"We've hardly played since Christmas, so we're not showing true form at the moment."

Keeper Paul Horridge has been brought in for a month from Barrow, while Craig Dootson recovers from injury.

And promising striker Simon Burton has been brought in from West Cheshire League side, Bond.

Greenwood added: "The two have been brought in to shake us up a little. Our reserve keeper has done fine but is a bit shell-shocked."

Greenwood is also still smarting over the club's expulsion from the President's Cup. He said: "Altrincham, Stalybridge and West Ham United have all been allowed to replay cup matches this season because of ineligible players.

"This season, the format of this particular cup changed and I think there should be clearer rules. I think the League should learn from the incident as well.

"Caerwyn Williams knew that he'd played in the cup in an earlier round, but thought that because it changed its name, he was eligible to play."
