A VIDEO recorder installed by a local charity for patients at Royal Lancaster Infirmary has gone missing. And members of Heart Concern, the charity who raised the money to buy the video, have made a heartfelt plea for those responsible to return it.

The Philips VR285 video recorder was used by staff and patients for entertainment and to play health information videos. Heart Concern had raised the cash by holding collection days which were generously supported by the general public.

The video was presented to staff and patients in October and it went missing, presumed stolen, from RLI's coronary care unit on December 30.

A spokesman for Heart Concern said: "The patients have been deprived of entertainment and also access to health information tapes. With all the other amenities that we hope to provide for the unit, it will be extremely difficult to raise the amount required to purchase a replacement.

"Hopefully, someone may have knowledge of its whereabouts and the problem will be resolved."

If you can help return the video recorder to Heart Concern call the Citizen on 382121.
