READING "buddies" from the business community are wanted by Bolton and Bury Chamber.

The scheme is aimed at helping boost literacy skills in local schools, and the ball has started rolling in Bury, courtesy of nine volunteers.

Maureen Topping, business education co-ordinator at the Chamber, said: "Reading partnerships work by helping children to find greater enjoyment in reading and, thereby, improve their literacy."
