TACKLING the dizzy heights of Africa's highest mountain will be former Bury Grammar School pupil Becky Johnson.
However, the 18-year-old's ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro will take second place to five months of teaching in the Tanzania town of Moshi.
Becky is one of 14 volunteers currently working with Africa and Asian Venture Ltd.
She will based at the Mawenzi Secondary School and is teaching science, English and French.
On her return to England in the summer, she plans to attend Sheffield University to study for a degree in bio-medical science.
Becky visited pupils at St Thomas's CE Primary School in Bury to show them where she will be based in Africa.
The pupils had donated cash towards the cost of Becky's African adventure.
