IAN MILLWARD has been handed the Silk Cut Challenge Cup tie he wanted.

Monday's draw paired Leigh at home to Super League Wakefield Trinity - and he is rubbing his hands with anticipation.

The Leigh coach admits it is unlikely his side will make it all the way to Murrayfield.

But he is delighted with the chance to have a crack at a Super League club. "I feel the gap between the bottom clubs in Super League and the leading sides in the Northern Ford Premiership is narrowing," he said. "There could be an upset or two.

"I'm delighted to get a lower Super League club down at Hilton Park. They won't fancy it at all. We've come a long way in the last year or so. It will be a great challenge - and a yardstick for us to see just how much progress we have made."

The ties will be played on the weekend of February 12/13.

But the NFP remains his No 1 priority. "The cup is nice, but the league is our bread and butter," added Millward. "The main concern now is Sunday's game at Workington."

Millward is confident in-form second rower Simon Baldwin will be back after missing two games with a knee injury while Craig Dean (neck) and Dave Ingram (groin) are rated 50-50.

Heath Cruckshank is again likely to be missing and there are new doubts about Mick Higham (shin) and Tim Street (knee) who were hurt against Siddal.
